PLAYTIME

As I get older, I sometimes forget how freeing it is to simply PLAY.

As kids, PLAYTIME was a serious affair back home. Our parents made sure we had no shortage of toys: video games, water guns, and even just humble plastic toy soldiers and Pokémon figurines.

An afternoon of bubbles.

We’d play tag outside, ride our bikes around the neighbourhood, enjoy a simple game of badminton with nets we’d woven with our imagination. It’s all fun and games until the shuttlecock bounces into a neighbour’s backyard – we’d play rock-paper-scissors to decide who’d be the lucky one to go and retrieve it. A cheap thrill but it made for an evening of childish adrenaline and foolish giggles.

GRAFFITI – PLAYTIME
COOKIE – PLAYTIME

Dedicating a collection to PLAY seemed apt at a juncture during which I’ve been thinking more about what flowers mean (and can mean) to me; how differently I can experience, acknowledge, and place them, now having spent a good half-decade working with these BoTaNiCaL CReaTuReS.

And so PLAYTIME was birthed, a series of thoughts, stories, and memories from my childhood – conjured presently through flowers.

SWEET – PLAYTIME

It’s always tender for me, PLaYinG with flowers – allowing them to speak through and for me.

I’ve wished since the very beginning for FIBRE to be a soft place. I sometimes lose track of what this means.

And so 2026 has been a year of slowing down, of taking the time to simply PLaY with flowers. I hope you guys discover something comforting in these arrangements too – sometimes it pays to have that little bit of fun~
