A Taste of Christmas

This was meant to be a Christmas story, but time has had a habit of escaping from me this 2025. We’ll have to make this a year-end reflection of sorts ♥

Every year since I can remember, Christmas has been a warm tradition at home. We’d have family over; Pa would break a sweat with the grill in the backyard and Ma would be lost in preparing the ingredients for our communal hotpot session.

The tree.

Over time, I’d come to associate some familiar smells with this festive time of year – the smoke of a barbecue, the sultry spice of our favourite soup base, the cinnamon of mulled wine, the sweet comfort of a fruit cake – a FEAST for the senses every time December came along.

STEAK – Feast

We’d began this collection with an interest in carnivorous plants; Nepenthes to be exact. But to tie these creaturesque beauties to Christmas without a foray into FooD seemed decidedly unceremonial. Besides, what better companion is there to STEAK than WINE?

And who can forget the presents! I don’t think there’s ever been a year in which Pa or Ma have neglected to indulge us in the delightfully childish excitement that a wrapped GIFT brings.

GIFT – Feast

This 2025, FIBRE has been a labour of memory, nostalgia, and tribute – to all the chapters of life that have brought me to where I am today.

I write this on the last day of the year, and there’s so much more than what one gratitude blogpost can sum up that I would like to say about the past 12 months.

CAKE – Feast

I would like all of you to know how much I appreciate every order placed, every note of encouragement, every smile you’ve allowed these flowers to bring to your faces.

Here’s to another year brimming with flowers – wishing everyone the most joyous holiday season and a blooming new year ahead.
