More Than Flowers

It might seem strange to say, but plants (and flowers) have always felt quite alive to me.

As a child, I used to help my Nenek weed the garden, pulling up sprigs and shoots of unwanted grasses. Some of these came up whole, and turning them upside down became somewhat of an anthropomorphic exercise – roots became hair, two leaves for arms and the topmost crown a little skirt: the cutest little plant people.

With BoTaNiCaL CReaTuReS, our core collection for the year, it was precisely this alive-ness that I wanted to distill with each design. From their forms down to the ingredients chosen, each arrangement takes as its starting point a special childhood memory surrounding plants and their sentience.

These narratives will form the base for our upcoming seasonal collections, so stay tuned for more on how Pokémon, coral reefs, and carnivorous plants have moulded our views on the botanical.

But before we close this little story, I spent a good amount of time towards the end of last year reflecting on all that had transpired in 2024. Thank you all for your support – it means the world to know that you guys care about flowers enough to continue following us on this journey.

We have more, much more that we want to do with, around, and about flowers. And with all of you here with us, we hope to be able to do this for very much longer.

It’s always been more than just flowers to me – connecting with plants has always meant connecting with people, memories, stories – and I truly hope that you will find more than just flowers here as well.
